I like Razer products. The first one I purchased is also a Razer BlackWidow keyboard â itâs more than a decade old now and still used every day on my work computer at home (I am a software developer). I have another Razer keyboard at the office. This keyboard appears to be just as solid as my previous two purchases. I expect that it will last a long time too.Their software though⦠I got fed up with it years ago and uninstalled it, settling for the default lighting behaviour (I wasnât interested enough in lighting to bother to install third party software). This keyboard is for a new PC. After connecting the keyboard and letting Razerâs software (Synapse 3) install itself, I started getting blue screen crashes (Windows 11). When locking the PC and resuming, the keyboard would stop working. When I got past that (using the mouse and the on-screen keyboard), I noticed that the âdâ key was repeating when text input had focus. Pressing a key stopped that but it shouldnât happen, of course. I tried it on another PC (that did not have their software installed) and it was fine.I uninstalled their software and all the problems disappeared. The keyboard works fine. I donât mind the default lighting behaviour. If I wanted something else, Iâd try third party software before trying Razer again. You may be fortunate (many are), but if you get any problems after installing Razerâs software, have a search online â youâll find a lot of people complaining about it. Itâs not a new thing. It was lousy 10 years ago and itâs still lousy.

Got one of these and 5 keys didn’t work out of the box.Returned the keyboard for a replacement, had the same issue with the replacement keyboard. This was not a software issue, as tested the faulty keys from multiple computers.Looking online, this is an issue reported by multiple people for the same product.Very disappointed in Razer quality for a almost $200 keyboard. They must have some sort of manufacturing defect with the product, but just ship them out anyway and hope people don’t return them.Tell you everything you need to know about the company.

I used a Blackwidow Chroma keyboard for around 8 years, give or take, didn’t have many issues beside one fixed by a firmware update (post RMA of the first unit). When said keyboard’s switches started to die out one by one, I decided to upgrade to the V4X hoping not to have to return yet again another Razer product.Unfortunately that’s exactly what I had to do.Switches felt fine, the media buttons worked fine. Then around 2 weeks in I realized some double inputs, I initially thought they happened because my fingers were’t used to the sensitivity of linear switches, but 2 weeks after that the problem persisted if not worsened. I was getting double input registration and zero inputs in some cases, even fully pressing the key down.Mind not about adjusting polling rate, you can’t fix inputs not registering if you don’t solder/re-solder things yourself. Did a quick google search and realized that the problem is very common with this model, hence why I returned it with no hesitation as defective.Pity, really.

After two months after purchase, keyboard started ocasionally not registering pushes. It could be any button. Tried different pc – the same. Considering buying a new keyboard already. Very dissapointing…
