Surpassed Expectations
Initially when ordering, I really had low expectations for but they’ve been unexpectedly exceeded.Let’s talk about packaging first though, either Amazon or the seller should use more protective packaging, otherwise there are chances of it getting damaged.Product is perfect. I mainly bought it as a drive bay and it’s read and write speed are quite well. Got 120mb/s on my HDD.They’ve given a USB to USB C adaptor as well which is made of metal.The product doesn’t feel like made of low quality as well.It has some paddings which makes it stick to the surface you put it on, which is a plus too.I’d say it’s quite good.

Go with this… we have 30 day’s return policy give more trust to this product. one thing i have to say product came with only manufacturer box. No additional box Amazon packing. seller have to consider additional package atleast for sensitive electronic products.

It is a good device if you are into basic ntfs or fat to clone and continue from smaller to larger discAdvance system like exos are difficult to even read through, refs is not recognised, pl dont try to boot from the device its not supportedMuti format disc currently being used (ntfs, ext4 and mac os in one disk) if inserted it asks to initialise pl do not click yes or your data will be lost.Device works best as a 1:1 basic format reading typically upgrading hdd/ sdd by std home user anything more advance shall not be read

Functionally good – metal bar inside to artifically increase weight.
The product is functionally good – but was rattling inside – I opened it to find a metal piece that was screwed had broken one screw and the screw was prancing inside – why is the metal affixed? To artificially increase the weight to give it a more “premium feeling” – its just a small pcb with a plastic case. Removed the metal bar and its working fine.

i got this because my years old sdd was beginning to fail. the last time i had to replace my hard drive, years ago with the sdd that was failing, i reinstalled everything which took almost an entire day to reinstall everything and get it set back up. the idea of being able to do it quicker and easier was well worth $30 to try. and it worked as advertised…with a slight learning curve.first, the videos i watched all said directly cloning the hard drive would create an exact clone, meaning the newer, larger sdd i bought would only show the same size as the sdd i was cloning. so i was prepared for that and used free software called AOMEI Partition Assistant to be able to use the entire drive. you CAN use windows disk management to increase the size of the c drive partition. the problem i had was there was a recovery partition between 2 unallocated spaces and disk management would only let me increase the size by the first space. i didnt want to delete the recovery partition and AOMEI allows you to move the recovery partition to the end so i could access both unallocated spaces. it was a very small hassle, nothing that would change my mind that buying this was well worth it.the 2nd issue was more frustrating and isnt a problem with the unit, though i initially thought it was. people who have experience cloning c drives may already know this, but this was my first time and i didnt. i took my old ssd out of my desktop and directly cloned it with this unit. it seemed to be pretty fast. i started it, took a shower and by the time i was done, so was the new sdd. i put it in my desktop, turned the power on…and then got a message that my desktop didnt find a boot disc. after checking connections and getting the same message, i thought maybe the cloning hadnt worked. so i reformatted and tried again…only to get the same result. at that point i decided to try and use the AEOMI software on my laptop to try and clone the sdd using the unit plugged into the laptop. and while searching for the best way to do that, one of the several results i read had instructions to go into the bios and set the boot order to the new disc. so i did that and voila, it booted up perfectly. as i said, many people might already know that, but as this was my first time doing this, i didnt. and i didnt see it mentioned in the instructions or any of the video reviews i watched. so if youre brand new to this, like me, remember to go into BIOS and set the boot order to the new disc.

This is a follow-up review for the disk dock I purchased. I had been using my unit to access 3.5″ SATA drives I pulled out of my tower that were used for backups and extra storage. I replaced my older MAC Pro w/MAC mini that doesn’t have provisions for internal disk storage. The disk dock had been working for almost a year without issues until I started getting system messages that the disks that were running in it were being disconnected before being ejected. This type of disconnect could result in a damaged HDD or corruption of data so I powered off the dock and contacted Wavlink tech support. These folks were excellent and very pleasant to work with. I explained to them what had happened and sent them screen shots of information they requested. To my relief they concluded that I could get a replacement unit and had it shipped within a couple of days. Very professional and polite in helping me resolve my issue and I definitely would recommend this product. Prior to the problem I encountered the disk dock operated flawlessly and when there was a problem Wavlink gave a fair assessment and resolution. I will definitely look to them for any future IT needs I may have. Thank you for your help and support.
