Wi-Fi 6 Upgrades Everything
What is Wi-Fi 6? (as known as AX WiFi)
Wi-Fi 6 is the next generation standard in WiFi technology. Wi-Fi 6 also known as “AX WiFi” or “802.11ax WiFi” builds and improves on the current 802.11ac WiFi standard. Wi-Fi 6 was originally built in response to the growing number of devices in the world. If you own a VR device, multiple smart home devices, or simply have a large number of devices in your household, then a Wi-Fi 6 router might just be the best WiFi router for you.
Why you need Wi-Fi 6?
Demands for more wireless devices
Increasing bandwidth requirements
Heavier interference between APs
What Wi-Fi 6 can bring you?
Larger Capacity: UL/DL MU-MIMO, OFDMA
Improved Performance: 1024-QAM, Longer OFDM Symbol
Greater Efficiency: BSS Coloring, Target Wake Time
WiFi 5 vs. WiFi 6: Speed
Each generation of WiFi increases WiFi speeds. So does WiFi 6, though this is not its primary goal. The nominal data rates are raised up to 9.6 Gbps, around 40% higher than that of WiFi 5.
WiFi 5 vs. WiFi 6: Efficiency
Performance in crowded networks is ultimately WiFi 6’s signature feature. Also known as “High-Efficiency WiFi,” WiFi 6 shines brightest in device-dense environments like corporate offices, shopping malls, and dense residential apartments. While the nominal data rate improvement against WiFi 5 is around 40%, the overall throughput improvement over an entire network is 300% This also translates to 75% lower latency. WiFi 6 also maintains steady top speeds while connected to many devices simultaneously, even where previous WiFi versions would stumble.
WiFi 5 vs. WiFi 6: Battery Life
Target Wake Time (TWT) allows devices to negotiate when and how often they wake up to send or receive data. This feature increases device sleep time and substantially improves battery life for mobile and IoT devices.
Worldwide adoption of WiFi 6 devices?
WiFi 6 is seeing broad adoption in WLAN markets . According to IDC Q3 2021 Tracker, In the consumer WLAN market, WiFi 6 products continued to grow, rising to make up 27.9% of the consumer segment’s total revenue, up from 24.5% in Q2 2021. In the enterprise WLAN market, WiFi 6 APs made up 62.2% of the revenues

Buy it!!
The router is quite powerful and we get wifi all round our house. It optimizes well so multiple devices can be used simultaneously, we use around 8 devices and 1 tv connected via cable. Despite using 4k content on TV and using wifi for multiple video calls , it does not lag. Build quality is nice, very easy to connect and set up. Overall, worth it. Review is after a month of purchase.

Good router
Have tried several routers over several years. Tplink seems to be the best for homes. Speeds are good. My new phone also connects over wifi6. Older devices work well as well. No issues. Happy with product

Expensive and Missing Features
-you might need to read this if u having 2.4ghz range issue : “when i had first time setup this router,i was getting very less 2.4ghz range, signal in other room,i was not very happy with that so i did this- i updated the router’s firmware manually(downloaded from tp link site) after that i reset the router, then when setting it up,in wireless setting do not disable smart connect feature or else you will have trouble with range even if you only want to use 2.4 ghz,i heard this limits speed to 100mbps but this was the only way by which i got more range else i was getting like 1-2 mbps but now its 20-28 mbps big difference.”-build quality is ok-interface is ok-note-router’s inbuilt automatic firmware upgrade doesnt work well as it didnt chose to update last updated firmware, choosed older one.i had to manually update it. version which was delivered is v1.0 older one(kind of disappointed from this but router works and thats what i need)-Even some of the features that other cheap tp link routers offer are missing such as wds bridge,3rd party vpn support-i dont think, router has heating coz its normal for routers to get hot such as my modem+router combo which goes upto 65 degree in summer still doesnt restart or disconnect.this one doesnt have feature to see temperature from interface so cant say anything about heating issue in router-(Please Use Your Modem in Bridge Mode and Then Connect this one or you might not get full out of this router and will experience double-nat type issue.)-i bought this router because my isp just blocked my router’s admin access via firmware update and they are not providing credentials now i just cant do anything to its wireless settings or lan settings so i bought this routerwill update this review in june if it overheats or if i face any issue, currently it is working ok with my zte f660 modem being on bridge mode.Update After Summer:its been few months since i bought this router and what i can tell is that the experience was quite good, especially i tested it with some stress testing tools and what i found is that router doesn’t overheat nor restart. In those past few months i had received some firmware updates which may have improved stability of router which was not noticed by me, Currently the router has firmware v1.3.9 which was released on 28 July 2023 and have not yet received any update since then.During all my use what i found is that the router actually supports 1GBPS speeds on ethernet like i have 500mbps plan and speeds are actually quite good and sometimes my isp removes the speed limit, and it does touches 1 GBPS speeds; interesting thing is when it touches 1gbps,router’s cpu doesn’t go beyond 20% cpu usage or 50% memory usage so software is well optimized.I did some stress testing and software maintains its resources very well and overall it performs well even during full utilization. One thing that i liked is that 5 GHZ range is actually quite good, i mean its literally equivalent to its 2.4GHZ range which is also kind of bad as it depicts that 2.4GHZ is bad which is actually true but anyways i saw 70 mbps speed where 2.4GHZ was providing like 5mbps speed. All summer, router performed very well and i didn’t suffered any restart nor any heating issue of my router.Note that all the speed tests were performed on ethernet as my phone just couldn’t get speed beyond 280 down and 380 up so i was kind of restricted on wifi testing.I am not a mobile gamer so i don’t know the latency stability on wifi as i prefer PC with ethernet.

Zero Dead Zones and Super Duper Longer Distance Coverage
Wifi coverage of TP-Link AX-73 is mind blowing. I have it installed on my second floor and it’s still able to provide both 5 and 2.5 Ghz signals on ground floor as well as on terrace. I have a 300 Mbps plan and this router is able to fully utilize the connection. Constantly providing network speed upto 350 mbps and sometime reaching 450 mbps. I have tried ftp access on USB drive and works well via both local and remote access. I have also connected another router to it via lan cable and the secondary router which is working as access point is able to provide full speed of 300 mbps of my ISP provided speed. For now around 15 devices I have connected without any issues and these devices include TV, Mobile Phones, Router, Laptop, PC. I would say a Superb router and one must buy if looking to upgrade from old wifi 5 router.

An absolute beast
I purchased one back in 2023 and it work really well so I thought of purchasing one more now I have two dedicated ax73, one for ground floor and second for the first floor but both are placed on ground floor in the living area as I do not have a cable running from ground floor to first floor. Even though the router is on ground floor the 2.5GHz signal are reaching well on the first floor, my room on first floor is not directly above the living room on ground floor where router is placed but I am getting a decent 50 MBPS speed, I have never experienced network drop or fluctuations. My house has concrete floorings and walls. The one placed on ground floor is handling around 15 devices alone out of which 6 are cctv cameras 1tv, 4 mobile phones, 1 smart plug and a few more.Go for it.

Surprisingly good range and speed
After having tried a lot of routers for improving the wifi range and speed, I stumbled upon this gem of a device. It is an affordable wifi6 router with outstanding range and speed. A particular place in my house where the wifi signal was weak and max speed was 10mbps is now getting 200 mbps after replacing my old router with this one. The ability to keep one SID for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz by keeping auto switch works like a charm. Do not hesitate to go for this router if you are looking for a good looking and affordable wifi6 router.

Got faulty within 4 days
Product got faulty within 4 days and getting restart automatically. There is absolute no help from Amazon and they are hiding using brand service centre replacement policy. My money wasted as i dont have time now to visit service centre for checking. Maybe this review will also not approved by Amazon

La entrega se retraso. mucho.Lo compre más caro con este vendedor por la fecha de entrega y falló. El router es aceptable pero no.mejor que otros de marca netgear.
Walkerbrettr –
Works perfectly! I liked some of the controls on my old netgear app and it will take a bit to get used to. The thing I like is that the router doesnât drop Wi-Fi for no reason. Much better than my old R7000.
