Works well. Light weight. Had some USB issues while ejecting the external hard disk. Shut down the laptop fully and inserted the external hard disk in another usb port in laptop . Was able to eject properly. Only doubt is whether it can withstand shock if it falls accidentally.

If you’re getting it for photo backup or some important files. Definitely check out the dropbox subscription given with it. I just backed up everything to there and it’ll probably never lose it. Great product

Easy to use in MAC book
Just got my 2 TB Seagate HDD delivered the very next day in 24 hrs. The drive is easy to use in MAC, no need to reformat, as its already in exFAT filesystem, which works in both Windows and MAC and its a great relief for users like me. BTW they didn’t provide any TYPE C connector which you need to buy on your own if your device only has Type C ports (no USB ports available) , so make sure to buy a USB to Type C connector by yourself. I bought seagate HDDs where they provided the USB to Type C connector by default with the HDD but now they didn’t/ The data transfer is fine though not lightning fast. After you buy this product , make sure to register your product at first which is very much essential for Warranty claims in case and if you need to secure your data, they provided a toolkit software comes along with HDD, which you can install to password protect your drive (if you are som much worried about your data visibility). Besides they also provide free cloud storage in DropBox which I dont require for now. The HDD also has mirror drives where you can easily sync between your portable HDD and machine storage. Thank You !

This HDD works beautifully from the get go without totally needing a powered external USB but you might want one. Quiet operation and quickly moves data. Shipping is quick and easy in as the precision storage comes in an easy to open bare cardboard envelope without padding. Totally recommended!

I read all the reviews and ordered it because Seagate drives have been very reliable for me in the past. I was leery because a lot of the reviews said it was difficult to set up and that there were no instructions. I connected it to my USB port, and up popped the file names that were installed on the unit, and I chose the file for Windows, launched it and a screen came up telling me that I could choose to drag and drop my files to the unit or do a scheduled backup. I dragged my files over and they copied to the backup perfectly with no issues. I viewed them once backed up and they were all there. Easy peasy. Definitely recommend!
