This is built like a tank, just like all the reviews say. I use it to switch io b/w 2 sources and my monitors/headphone amp setup. This equipment works beautifully without any signal coloring to my ear. I didn’t realize how convenient handling four different volume knobs with just one big knob would be. Excellent tool for a/b listening as well as listening to external sources via aux input without altering your DAW or hardware signal chain as it sits right at the end of the output chain. It is completely passive and has dedicated dim and mute buttons to protect your speakers from excess amplifications and blow outs. An indispensable tool when working with different sets of speakers.

First i was afraid after seeing a couple of negetive review about hiss or buzzing on full volume, but there is nothing like this even this eliminates all ground loop issues. Simply I loved it. But if there was a headphone out then it would be pure gold

I really like the design of this, but found without the proper grounding of a power supply you can introduce noise into the signal. I also noticed as you bring the attenuator knob down to the lower quarter, the left/right speaker channels become unbalanced. So if you are monitoring in this range and mixing your song, you may get a rude shock when it comes to listening on another stereo device.

I picked up the Mackie Big Knob Passive to replace a Presonus Monitor Station that got fried in a power outage. Delivered in a day and it literally took a minute to set it up. Works great controlling both powered and unpowered speakers. Switching is noise free and the unit doesnât color the sound. Great value for the money.
