Works, but small header
It probably works and gives high speed too, but the header is so small that it doesn’t even fit my wall ethernet outlet. I don’t know why would they go out of their way to make it smaller than usual at higher price.

Very amazing. I had someone tell me that flat cables have a higher risk of failing more than round cables, but I decided to give it a shot anyways. I can’t test the 40gbps, but I can say I’ve been getting nearly the full 1gbps (out of 1gbps limit) with this cable as the main cable that connects my computer room switch to the switch near the router. I know having a Cat8 might be overkill for some home enthusiasts, but I wanted to future-proof so I would NEVER have to fish a cable to this room again.I fished this through 2 misaligned drilled holes in the 2x4s in a wall to connect the router on the first floor to my computer on the 2nd floor, and it survived the journey and tugging through all the fiberglass, drywall, wood, and wood splinters with no problems at all! I thoroughly checked the cable for any damage and it was still like brand new.5/5 stars, would definitely buy again for the rest of the rooms in my house.

What is the difference between the common Cat6 and the newer Cat8 and is it right for you? The difference, in a nutshell is that Cat8 can handle network speeds of up to 40 Gbps and frequencies of 1000 MHz while cat 6 only handles 1 Gbps and 250 MHz band width. Most computer users other than datacenters and server centers only own equipment that utilizes 1Gbps network speeds. Some of the newer gaming computers utilize a 2.5 Gbps network connection and a rarified few have 10Gbps. Most internet providers only provide service at bit rates lower that 1Gbps except for fiber network providers like Verizon that now offer speeds up to 2Gbps. Data centers need the speeds now and have equipment that can utilize the greater bandwidth.I currently have a 2.5GHz network running between my servers and most of the computers but am replacing network cards for 10 Gbps cards and I need the speed between network switches to prevent bottlenecks. However, if I’m rewiring, I’m not going to stop at 10 Gbps. Why replace it now for 10Gbps when a few short years from now I’ll need the 100Gbps speed? That’s why if you’re replacing cables or buying new cables you should go with Cat8. Because what seems to be absurdly fast today, will become common place in the near future.I’ve been using Cable Creation cables for a while now. I find them to be what they’re supposed to be. This Cat8 cable is noteworthy for its flat form. I ran this cable from the network switch to a unit at my desk about 20 feet away. I like the flat cable because it hugs the baseboard and makes for a clean installation. If you do decide to use cat8 be aware that the maximum run length for Cat8 is considerably shorter than previous Cat standards (see chart). So plan accordingly.

i did a speed test with it, i was able to pull a full 10gbps up and down link. can’t test 40gbps since there is no rj45 switch that has it. it feel great, build is very nice. does feel like it will last for years.
