Drum Phil –
I bought these headphones in order to practice my acoustic drum set along to music. These phones are comfortable, while fitting snugly enough to block out much of the ambient sound of my playing. I can still hear myself playing, but can hear the recording without having to crank it super loud in my ears. The balance is great. Also the soft cord falls comfortably and does not get in the way of my playing. These are a great solution for a drummer looking to practice to recorded music.

After returning the Audio Technica M30x (they look nice but the sound quality is terrible), I went to a music store and I tested most of AKGs, including the 240, Sennheisers, Beyerdynamics including the 770 and 990 and for me, the Audix (never heard before about this brand, but recommended by the advisor at the store) were the best by far in terms of sound and comfort. I have compared at home with my beats Studio3 and Apple earbuds and the sound of the Audix is superior. I compared them listening to music and monitoring guitar using a focusrite scarlett. These headphones are 139 CAD in any music store. I have bought a second pair. Amazing deal.

This headphone was well built and sounded good overall pretty flat frequency response across the board. Mids sand highs neither recessed or in your face. Same with the highs and lows. Bad extend fairly low but rolled off before real sub bass. Still goes low. I I’m not a studio engineer but have a bit of experience with various kinds of audio including pro audio. On my opinion the would be excellent monitoring, mixing head phones because the really are flat, but in a good way. They aren’t sterile and would be good for listening. I thought they were very pleasing to the ear. Good headphone. The bad. I don’t have big ears and the description of over the ear is not fully accurate. The for me more like on ear cans and the became uncomfortable to me rather quickly. Unfortunately I had to return them. I with they had got better. I would have certainly kept them. Is say it worth taking a go at it. Return of they don’t work out. I’m in the process of figuring out what closed back cans I can get to replace these. Although wholly different in sound signature, I’m thinking about the Meze 99 classics.. they are twice the price but similar in price to the A150. Not a whole bunch of closed back headphones to choose from out there
