LIKED:* Smooth draw mechanisms* ample keyboard area. WAY more width than a numeric keyboard would need.* Brackets are adjustable.* The back has only a small lip, enough to hold a keyboard in place… but not so big that you could not go oversized on something..* TIP: 99+% of folks won’t need to, but you can hack this by getting different sized screws (go to your Hardware store). You can also make this “taller” by installing it onto thin wood strips that you then mount under the desk. (I’m using one to house an ancient Atari 800 computer which is like 5 inches high),DISLIKE:* Installation can be difficult — if so, STOP and try to be creative..*… you need to measure precisely in order to install the brackets to the desk first. This is not easy unless you can flip the desk.* …I took a different way and mounted the brackets to the shelf, then penciled in the holes and drilled. Even so it was difficult to “start” the screws threading into my desk, but not the product’s fault (my desk was heavy MDF/counter).*.. if I had to do it again I would use two 5/8″ strips of wood, mount this to the strips, then have someone hold it in place and just drill the strips into the desk.* It is plenty sturdy for the intended purposes, but if you use for an off-label purpose like I did, be aware it won’t stand a lot of abuse or weight. There’s nothing about this product that could improve the install… 99% of the complaints are because it’s hard to mount such things to furniture. Be patient, and get a helper.

It wasn’t terribly difficult to install but it doesn’t have that right fit and feel. I suppose it’s because it’s just made cheaply.

The quality of this tray is excellent but the install is a nightmare. I have a counter top that is mounted to my walls, so to attach this tray has to be done while lying on the floor and working above your head. The other issue is the tray has to be fully assembled, prior to be attached to the desk. That adds weight and makes it harder to manage. You need 2 people to do this job!It would be much easier if you could mount just the brackets, and then slide the tray in place at the end.As I mentioned the quality of the tray is very good. Itâs solid and seems strong. It slides easily on the ball bearing rails, and the mouse pad pull out seems strong. The height of the tray is adjustable, depending on the clearance you need for your keyboard. It has 3 height adjustments. Once installed the tray looks great and works well!Keep in mind the assembly! Youâll need two people; you should mark and pre-drill the holes for the screws; and you WILL be working over your head, while lying on your back. I only recommend this tray if you are a DYIâer and you can deal with laying flat on a floor.
