Having upgraded from a cheaper 1080p webcam, these are my comparisons:Pros:- Auto-focus works amazing. No more fighting with manual adjustments. You really couldn’t do better in the settings yourself. Trust me, I tried.- Low light image quality is a definite improvement.- HDR mode works great to balance highlights and shadows.- AI tracking is a neat feature though I don’t intend to use it.- Zoom feature in DELL software is nice (though its not really an optical zoom, it’s just a blown up image).- 65 degree vs 78 degree viewing angle options are also nice. (though again, it just looks like 65 degrees seems to be a more zoomed in version of 78 with no improvement in sharpness or image quality).- Build quality is solid.- Camera feed has never randomly dropped out. I always had to unplug and re-plug my old webcam.Cons (kinda):- Coming from a 1080p camera I expected the image detail on a 2K camera to be twice as sharp?Well, not really. The output resolution is definitely 2560x1440p and there are bit more details in the image, but I guess I had forgotten to do the actual math. The difference in horizontal and vertical resolution is about 33% (from 1920×1080), so remember, 2K doesn’t necessarily mean twice as much. There is also a definite improvement in image quality as well. I was going to give this 4 stars because I expected something near a 2x improvement, but after doing a side by side comparison I’ve changed my mind. It was a poor assumption to begin with and probably a ridiculous expectation as well. Conclusion:While I haven’t had other 1080p cameras to compare to, I’m pretty sure there are others out there that might probably do what this does, for cheaper, with comparable image quality, albeit at a slightly lower resolution. So if you really don’t *need* that extra resolution (to show the real texture of your skin during those Zoom meetings), I wouldn’t bother with getting a 2K webcam. That being said, everything that this webcam does, it does do pretty well, so, if you specifically want to get a 2K camera, this is the one I’d get.

The Dell Peripheral Manager just doesnât work on my Dell XPS laptop which makes all the functionality of this webcam pointless. After repeated attempts to reinstall, all I get is a âservice not Runningâ error. Itâs impossible to get help from Dell, so rather buy a £20 plug and play device which will give you the same functionality.Windows detects the camera and I can use it for Teams, Zoom, etc, but I cannot turn on the microphone, use the AI modes, change brightness settings or adjust zoom. Not really a hardware problem but useless without Dell software. Avoid!

This is a simple to use, good picture quality, and of actual physical quality unlike most cheap webcams. While bigger than most these days, if you have a stationary monitor, this is a great option.

I purchased this because my work requires a lot of video calls and my older camera was stuck with a slightly fisheye view and no ability to zoom in. This does have an app, but the native Windows Camera app will allow you to use the mouse wheel to zoom in.It fits well on top of a flat-screen monitor, with some room to still angle it where you need it.The cover is a magnetic disk with a foam backing to protect the camera, but is not attached. Make sure you keep track of it, don’t get anything abrasive stuck to the foam, and keep it away from the cats if you want to be able to cover the lens back up!All in all, a solid purchase of you are looking for a decent video chat Webcam under $100.
