Reject material
I am from the Interiors industry, and tried this EzyCR8 material out last September. For academic purpose, I did the joint sealing of my own bathroom floor myself, as the toilet needed the treatment. The material is a big fail as I observed, and now I need to call for a professional to do the job within 6 months of my sealing the joints. The tube is awkward shaped and too hard to press to get a uniform application, and is not a DIY job as it took me 5 hours of pressing the tube to get my 50 Sq.ft bathroom done. They should have thought of giving it in a easier to use silicon gun type dispenser so the DIY effort is more accurate, and less wasteful. The current tube design wastes about 15% of the paste, that cannot be wrung like a toothpaste tube to get all there is in it. It took me 1.5 tubes to do my 50 Sq. Ft toilet with 1’x1′ tiles. The tube doesn’t come with tools to flute or surface flush the paste with the tile surface, and dries faster than the time it takes to press it into the tile joints. The big fail is it doesn’t stay dry on coming in contact with water. I pressed the paste flush with my tile surface, closed the water supply to my toilet to ensure no leakage disturbs the drying application, and went on holiday for 15 days (recommended time for drying is lesser than 3 days) .15 days later when I washed away the extra grit /burrs above the tiles, some of it immediately came off from inside the joints, and the rest became wet.Over the next three months, it has been regularly coming off – without any effort -from the joints that are 1- 3 mm thick( poor tiling job by someone 15 years ago) , and only the corner joints where I messily put about 5-6 mm thick paste stayed put. This too becomes wet whenever in contact with water. We do not use any acid in our bathroom and just have regular cleaning with harpic, so it should not get affected.Today, 6 months later, the material left in the tile joints has gone yellow despite regular cleaning, and I can see fungus on it in some corners.I conclude that it’s a waste of time, effort , and money. I am paying someone three times more than what I spent on the two tube to redo it with proper chemical grout and have a hygienic and neat looking toilet.
