Robert Glasper – “Black Superhero”

Grammy winner and super collaborator, Robert Glasper is a producer, a pianist and a formidable force of multiplatform innovation. Last week, he was also the first in-person guest at MBE’s studio in two years. He warmed up the atmosphere of the whole building by a factor of about a thousand degrees with music, conversations and a world premiere of “Everybody Loves (with Musiq Soulchild and Posdnuos)”.

We’ve finally received the highly anticipated release of “Black Radio III”, ten years after Glasper dropped his “Black Radio” landmark, and there’s a lot to celebrate. “Black Superhero,” and its stunning accompanying video, have been out for a minute now, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity for Glasper’s album release without insisting that you immediately put your eyes and eyes on it. ears on this gloriously watched debut single.

Come together and listen. A masterful singer, storyteller and self-proclaimed “singer,” Tianna Esperanza channels wisdom far beyond her years in this provocative track. Don’t let the living room vibe let your guard down – press play for an important message about deliberate protest and resistance against oppression.

Prepare your senses for a true blend of contemporary sounds and ancient atmosphere in this slow-rebounding track from Lil Cherry and Goldbuuda. Standout players in the South Korean hip-hop scene, these two have been busy since releasing this track in December 2020, so if this one strikes you as it should, go google to hear the latest news .

Cafe Diana – “Forecast (with Deep Sea Diver)”

Here’s a story too tellable for the bribes among us. The dazzling Diane Coffee (real name Shaun Fleming), teams up with pop-rockers Deep Sea Diver in a perfect match. Come for the feel-good chorus, stay for the mess of human drama that’ll leave you saying “it’s complicated.”

Rebecca Vasmant – “Broken Biscuits (feat. Nadya Albertson)”

One could soak in this morsel for hours, like a hot bath infused with divine oils. Glasgow DJ-producer Rebecca Vasmant’s latest jazz-electronic outing erupts with flourishes of brass and vocal flourishes, all guided by percussion sharp enough to set your watch. It will find its way into your heart for total control – mind, body and soul.
